Well it's Friday September 10th 2010. I just got back on the Internet after a ten day sabbatical, moving out of my Texas home and getting back to Arizona. It was a Murphy's Law move, and if I ever face doing it again, I'll just put everything I can in a back pack and throw a match.
Usually I write a hub with the idea that each one should be better than the last. I have some writing goals. I've never written anything but songs, and this Hub experience is a challenge. Challenges keep me alive my friends, but getting back, I'm not trying to write here. I just want to talk to my friends, so I hope you're cool with that.
Tomorrow will be the anniversary of 911. Like most Americans, I'll never forget exactly where I was at and what I was doing when this occurred.
I'll never forget when my school principal announced over the intercom in sixth grade that President Kennedy had been shot. Then there was Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, JimiHendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and on and on. You just never forget. But 911 was special. For the first time America's wall of invulnerability had been penetrated, leaving us with a feeling of being naked ... in a creepy kind of way. In less time than it takes to watch a movie, American soil had suffered three major attacks, killing almost three thousand people.
America has had a few moments in it's history that weren't pretty, but it's unthinkable as to what this world would look like today, or if it would even exist without United States. More so than any major power in history, America achieved it's greatness while playing by the rules. (I didn't say without flaw, but more so than any other major power.) On 911 the proud American Eagle was attacked by savage dogs. Dogs that were able to pull the unthinkable off because they didn't play by any of the rules of modern civilization.
Note: I've seen all the conspiracy theories, and without question they have been debunked. I'm always up for a good conspiracy, but they just don't come close to holding water here, so please don't waste anyone's time with arguments to the contrary in the comments section .. cause I ain't biting. I mean it. I'm not inviting either the Bush family or the Cheney family over for barbecue this weekend, but they didn't plan 911. If someone can honestly prove that they did, I'll wear any kind of pants you ask. (Scratch that last statement, I don't want the endless comments on this matter.)
Anyway, I wrote a song about 911 this morning.
As I said earlier, I'm not trying to impress anyone with this blog. I'm not trying to dazzlemyreaders with any kind ManWithNoPantsbrilliance, I'm just talking to my family of friends on the Hub about 911 .. How it effected me, and I imagine a lot of you. I wish all of you could be sitting down in front of me with your legs comfortably crossed hippie style, while I pull out my old Gibson and play it for you. It's a blusy little number .. an E7th - A7th - B7th thing for those of you who do music. That's not possible, so I'll just have to settle for giving you the lyrics, and I hope that you can just leave the rest to your imagination. I love all you guys and girls that make up my little Hub family, and I thank you for taking the time to read my crazy stuff.

You're welcome for the opportunity to speak here, but quite honestly I'm disappointed in what you chose to speak about. You missed the whole theme of the Hub, and as far as I concerned .. ruined it.
It's not about corrupt government, it's about how the 911 attack affected me and most Americans.
You know how I feel about the deal making, cold blooded goons running this country, and like you, I've read the conspiracy theories. They sound pretty good until listen to the experts on the other side who don't have a dog in the fight. The wheels start comming off pretty fast. Conspiracy buffs ride a conspiracy high, and comming down is unthinkable. Elvis was seen in a Des Moines donut shop yesterday morning eating a donut and having a beer with Jim Morrison. How I'd love to believe that these two men are actually alive, but they're not. They are dead .. very dead.
Read what you want Micky, and believe what you want, I honestly wish you'ld found something you liked about this hub. It wasn't a report, it was about feelings, and I'm sorry this didn't do it for you. "I guess Camel Filters ain't for everybody."
I'll do a hub based on the homework you said I haven't done. I'll expose both sides of the theory, including the BYU's department of Enviromental and Civil Engineering report. You can go to town in the comments section there. I welcome your thoughts Micky, but let's not argue theories on this the anniversary day of 911, instead, let's reflect back on the losses and how this attack affected our country.

I thought your words, your song, was very beautiful. I read it a few times. I just really think about the families of those that were killed in the attacks. I think of the bravery of the rescue teams, police, firemen, etc. What a tragedy and it feels like we're not getting anything out of it; like a lesson learned. Perhaps that's government's doing.
I thought Mickey D's comment missed the point also. Nothing is "futile to exhange verbally". Why do any of us write? You can't make a general statement and apply it to a personal hub.

911 really kicked me in the back side. It forced us to restructure guidelines that worked for two and a half centurys. The whole thing was just sad, but I think history will show that it made us a stronger nation.

TMWNP: No one will forget where they were when these planes hit the towers of the World Trade Center. The words in your hub and lyrics are a tribute to those who lost their lives on this day. Hopefully our country has become a stronger nation.

It seems to me that the pics and your verbiage don't portray the events accurately to me.
We need accurate portrayals. We need truth. You issued this before your ball was rolling good, "Note: I've seen all the conspiracy theories, and without question they have been debunked....." You went on more than a little bit. You could just delete my comment if I "ruined it".

mickey dee~ how 9/11 effected people is a matter of opinion and tmwnp was portraying that in this hub. I definitely don't believe everything I read or hear about history, but I'm not paranoid that the truth is so far displaced from what we know right now. Usually the truth is somewhere in between both extremes, that's why i'd be careful of those extremes if I were you, but that's your option.
Micky Dee's a good guy Laura, but let me be kind and say that his sky is a little different color than ours if you know what I mean. I should have just ignored him.

The Bin Ladens and Bushes are family. The CIA spoke with Bin Laden months before 911. I could write a hub here but you haven't done your homework at all. Two buildings falling as they did on 9/11- is two world records. I have a hub on the "Coincidences of 911". It's futile to exchange verbally and endlessly. What all of us want is fairness. Fairness in ALL INVESTIGATIONS AND America will not do it in regular courts,(see reconstruction, see latest at news about North Carolina court problems in the news, See OJ, etc.) We true patriots want the truth. We true patriots want accountability and George Bush and his family will never on earth or hell address truth and fairness. You might say Obama won't. They are all related.
