If you want to read a hub by someone with great writing skills, someone who does their home work, go read breakfastpophttp://hubpages.com/profile/breakfastpop She's one smart cookie, who's well informed, and will cook you a great breakfast while getting you up to speed on current events.
if you want to read a hub by someone who's beautiful, inside and out, is as sensitive as a baby lamb, but as tough as a mother bear, go read my female twin, Izettl .. http://hubpages.com/profile/izettl
There are some great writers on the Hub, who focus on details, grammatics, and all the things that go into the writing of a great Hub.
If you just prefer getting hit in the mouth, I'm your guy.
I'm a keep it simple kind of guy .. a stickler for following the basics. I'm known as concept person. I see the big picture, and I get it right. Kind of sounds like I'm bragging doesn't it? Well, maybe so, but I'll always be just as quick to point out my weakness as I am to point out my strengths. On the flip side of me, you'll find a guy who has no patience for the all important details. I'll generate a million dollars without a problem, but wind up in prison for forgetting to do the paperwork or pay taxes. Whatever success I may have had in my life, I can thank the good people around me who did the mundane but critical things that brought my visions together. They are truly the unsung heroes. They are the glue that keeps me together. Mike,(Oldpoolman) is my friend, neighbor, and Super Glue. Without him, The Housefire Project would just be a bunch of stuff racing around in my head. Mike, if you're reading this, "If I was half the man you are, I'd be twice the man I am today, my friend."
Let's keep things simple here. We don't have to leave the basics, and doing so will dilute the message. Let me begin by saying that if you're someone who follows me me, you know that I'm focused on cleaning up political corruption through my (our) organization called The Housefire Project. There's a very simple yet vibrant big picture that this organization focuses on, and that is .. "CROOKS ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS!"
I'm featuring two crooks in this piece, but if you read my hub called " 2011 Fixing A Broken Leadership," you'll find a list as long as your arm. I'm talkig about some swell folks that we voted in right at home, then kept voting for them all the way to Washington. There's seventy something of these fine fellas that have become convicted felons in recent years while serving on the job, These are the wonderful people who we put in charge, and were deciding on how much money you'd have to give them, and how it would be spent. Go ahead, click on this link to my old hub, skim it, and come back. http://hubpages.com/hub/Broken-Leadership-aka-The-Housefire-Project These are just the ones that have been dumb enough to get caught. The two that I feature here are just the latest batch of horse thieves running our country to get caught. The list of charges that they've been convicted of is impressive, but too long to put in this Hub. I'm serious, Google these two characters .. you'll see. If you start reading old Charlie's list of felonies, you'll have to take a coffee break to get throught them. You'll noticed that one crook is a Republican, and one is a Democrat. I'm not prejudice, I hate a thief regardless of their label.
Think of our country as a bank with thirteen trillion dollars in the safe. Think of those four hundred thirty something people up there on Capitol Hill as the ones running the bank. See where I'm going here? We have an economy on the brink of collapse. Economy is money. The broken economy isn't a result of bad luck, it's bad bankers. As we can see from the above paragraph, many of our little bankers are busy trying to squeeze their share of the bounty from the safe into their pockets, and the pockets of their friends who helped put them in the bank in the first place.
Every single future threatening problem we have is a bi product of political corruption, so this is where we start.
"Mr. Man With No Pants, how can you be so sure our leadership is broken? Maybe these are just a few bad guys that slipped through."
Yea, maybe .. Hey, I'll answer that question with one statement, but before I do, let me ask you a question. First, Google up our folks in congress, study them a bit, then tell me honestly .. How many of them would you let watch your five year old child or grand child over night. Think about it.
Now for the answer to your question. "Because Obama's campaign cost a billion dollars, and McCain's wasn't far behind." Any more questions?
Why am I writing hub, after hub, after hub, basically saying the same over and over again? Am I working on a good Hub score? I don't even have a clue as to how that stupid thing works. Maybe I'm writing this stuff to make the big bucks? Well, that's probably part of it. After all, in only a little over six months I've made dang near forty bucks! Hell yea, six months ago I went full time after this Housefire/Hub thing, devoting my time to researching issues, and developing an organization that with God's blessings will turn this country around. I have made exactly $38.00 in the last six months, so why am I doing this? I've been fortunate enough to have made some money in my life, but I would give every penny I've got, (which isn't a fortune at this point) and be willing to go to jail for the words I write. For the first time in my life, I've found something more important in life than me. It's you. The three hundred million yous.
You can believe that or not, but the more I dig in, the deeper I go, the scarier things get concerning our future. I look into the faces of my grand children knowing that I have to work hard to overcome my previous lack of involvement in shaping the world that I hand them. They deserve much better.
I know that most of you have full time jobs, kids in school, and activities outside the home. You don't have time to do much more concerning getting involved with the issues, than watching a little CNN, Fox, maybe a little talk radio, and saying a quick prayer before you go to bed at night. I know, I've been there. It's tough. But tough or not, reader, you have to get involved. You can't spend the kind of time that Mike and I do on this stuff, but I'll tell you that you can devote fifteen minutes a day towards saving America .. and you'll do just exactly that.
Things are moving fast. A decided majority of Americans were against the United Health Care bill. Our government in the biggest act of arrogance I've witnessed, ignored us. Contrary to what folks in Washington think, the majority of Americans put together, are collectively smarter than a few horse thieves. No one understood this bill, and with our economy in the middle of a Grand Maul Seizure, common sense told us that it wasn't time for a trillion dollar health plan.
A bill was recently passed giving our government control of the Internet. Did you okay that one? I didn't. A few days ago they passed the Food Safety Bill making it law. That one will raise the price of groceries. Did you okay that one? Did you even know what the Food Safety Bill is? Most people don't, and our government is passing these babies faster than you can say quit. Things are changing fast. It's being done kind of subtitle, but really. I mean it's out there, but no one is paying much attention, or so it seems, while a group of bankers aka congressmen reshape our children and grand children's future into a collage of great uncertainty. We do not have the luxury of time. We're approaching the point of no return. That's one man's opinion, but as you begin to dig in, you'll start to see it too. Don't let me, or any pundits do your thinking, see for yourself!
I met a old guy at an old steakhouse out here about 10 miles north of Tucson last Saturday night. He was a retired judge, and California senator. He'd fought in the original D-Day invasion of France, as well as the Battle Of The Bulge. He was 84 years old, three times sharper than me, and had more energy. We talked non stop for two hours, occasionally taking the time to stick a quick bite into our mouths. He loved it when I explained The Housefire Project. He asked a lot great questions. Joining my organization will be difficult for him as he threw his computer in the trash at the beginningof the year last year. He did say he'd make a donation, and gave me his card. He then told me I could call him for advise anytime I felt I needed to. Most important, he gave me these three golden pieces of advise. He said, "Son .. 1. TELL THE TRUTH 2. DON'T BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING BUT GOD. and 3. NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!" I've been working hard on this project, and was getting a little discouraged that things weren't moving just as fast as I wanted. People, I honestly believe that God placed this man in my path. That's the second retired senator to encourage me in the last three weeks. I will never allow discouragement to set in again no matter how tough it gets. That's a promise.
In Closing, As I've said twice in this hub,"The world's moving fast." If you're in the rat race, you have little time to devote to researching the issues. That's why I feel it's important to sink your teeth into The Housefire Project. We do the research. We don't let CNN, Fox, or Talk Radio form our opinions for us. We dig up the facts and let them walk on their own legs. Fifteen minutes a day. That's it. Fifteen minutes a day bumping around the web site, and reading the links, rants, and Mission Statement. Take a second to vote in the polls. This site is a work in progress and will developinto a virtual political library. When our prospective membership reaches three hundred .. We are officially a pain in the Bad Guy's ass, and working our way into being the Bad Guy's nightmare. We will start off with local, and state issues that our members live with, as a stepping stone to the beautiful battle of "Capitol Hill." I dont want you to take a lot of time from your family. I don't want you to take any risks. I'll do that. That's my job. All I will need from you when we hit three hundred, is a big ten bucks a month, fifteen minutes a day educating yourself, and a commitment to yourself and Housefire to see that it grows into a force that protects a fragile young democracy, and the men, women, and children, living under it. Here's the link. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way my friend. Here's to being free and eating pizza!

Senators sometimes offer good advice. But then, I'm sure you recognize good advice when you hear it.
Good Hub.
Jim - this one tells it like it is, and I am sure some will find that offensive. I too was guilty of ignoring all the crap and corruption that has become a part of our daily lives, and assumed someone else would take care of it for me. I realize now I need to get involved or it will be too late for any of us to do anything.
Our system is sick, and getting sicker by the day. We have known criminals and tax evaders holding positions in our highest government offices. Charlie Rangle getting a slap on the wrist for all of his ethics violations was an insult to all Americans, and I would say the same thing regardless of which party he was affiliated with. How can we hope to start cleaning up this rampant corruption when we have the fox watching the hen house? This tells me clearly that many of his counterparts are guilty of at least some of the same crimes, they just haven't been caught yet. They too would only want a slap on the wrist if they did happen to get caught. If you and I were found guilty of tax evasion, we would lose everything almost immediately. They seem to live by a completely different set of rules. And again, let me make it perfectly clear, I am not referring to any particular political party, the corruption exists in all parties. We need to find a way to deal with this "above the law" attitude that exists today, and apparently is perfectly acceptable to the majority of citizens.
I don't know how many more years I will even be on this planet, but can assure you I will start doing my part. I have learned the other guy will not take care of this for me, so I need to get involved.
I am going to start looking seriously at the voting records of my elected representatives. I suspect that what they say and how they vote doesn't add up in many cases. I am really tired of finding out bills have been passed and put into law that I knew nothing about. Many of these will greatly affect my grand-children and great-grandchildren. I will be contacting my representatives and asking them why they voted in favor of some of these bills. I suspect in many cases they voted hastily with no idea what was really in the bill, or what the long term effect on America would be. Perhaps they were late for a lunch date with a lobbyist and in a hurry.
Bottom line, we all need to step up to the plate and take a swing at the ball. To continue just sitting on the bench is a sure bet we will lose the game because of our apathy.
I know you share the same concerns and have started the Housefire Project in an attempt to get people to swing at the ball. I only hope it is not to late to voice our collective disapproval and get some things changed. Number one, the crooks have to go. They have made more than enough money during their term in office to last the rest of their lives and the need to make room for some honest people.
....well me is no intellacktual (sic) either .....but I do not know one thing - my buddy Jim is good for America - because he is a proud man - a fair man - - and he loves his country - and his fellow men and women who also believe in the greatest country in the free world - so please all you folks out there in
Skepticville - listen to this fine man - because he speaks the truth Ruth!!!!!
..and that is the only decent thing to do -
Dear The Man,
Thanks for the mention. You are awesome. As for my senators, frankly when I write them I receive meaningless non-personal replies. I'll keep writing but it feels like a waste of time.
Yes you do get it right. Can't we just petition you to be president? I totally agree with you about breakfastpop. She's another favorite of mine too- reminds me I got to catch up on her hubs. To be honest, I never knew politicians have actual rap sheets before you wrote that other hub. Jim,I will support you and visit your site more often, I'll kick in the money later than sooner but I'll make my promise now. I completely believe in you and don't get discouraged. I feel that way from time to time also and then something happens to get me going again. Obviously the senators were encouraging for you and there for a reason.
A very good article, my friend. GodSpeed! Damn the torpedoes!
